Dear family and friends,
Last year Joshua and I had the opportunity and blessing to go and
serve in the Dominican Republic at Holt’s House (holtshouseofhope.com) with
fellow missionaries Joie (Puckett) & Fernando Cuevas, in Boca Chica. While
there the Holy Spirit taught us both so many things. For instance, in Boca
Chica there are many empty pieces of land with brick walls that speak of
ownership. The Holy Spirit said to me that these represents empty hearts that
need Jesus. Like in any town there are areas that are rough and “decorated”
with lots of graffiti and such. The Holy Spirit gave me new “glasses” to see
better…to see beyond the rough areas and just love people where they are with
no judgements and to see the graffiti as art, a way that people express
themselves when they have no words to speak. Joshua learned that with Jesus
there are no language barriers that love speaks for itself. He learned the true
meaning of J-O-Y…Jesus Others and You. While there others didn’t see his
challenges (Autism, anxiety, sensory issues etc.) they saw him for who he was
and loved him big. He got out of his comfort zone in another culture and fell
in love with the people and the country and is so excited about returning. This
year he is being challenged and will be leading a devotional for the kids with
an interpreter. God is so good!! What we thought was impossible God made
possible. Just like the mustard seed if we have faith as little as a mustard
seed God can make mountains move. This year our family
has an opportunity to go and minister together. Tim and I heart’s
desire has been to be able to go overseas and minister, but due to children on
the autism spectrum and the many challenges that come with it, we thought that
would never be a possibility. BUT GOD! What we thought so long ago was
impossible, God is making possible.
We need your help! Would you be willing to commit to pray and/or give
financially toward our family’s support? The cost of our trip is $1500 per
person. This includes our lodgings, food, and air fare. We will need $9000 for
our family to go. We are doing fundraisers and support letters in order to raise
the money needed to go. Would you be willing to help us? I love ministering
with my family and seeing the Holy Spirit move in their lives. Going to another
country will open new fields of ministry that they have never experienced before,
and I would love to be able to be there to watch them as God shows up and shows
out for them. My mother’s prayer for my children has always been for Him to use
them for His glory far more than what He has done with Tim and me. Would you be
willing to help this momma be able to see and experience the Holy Spirit
working in and through my children in such a different and profound way as an
overseas Mission’s trip?
