“BUT GOD!”
Dear friends and family,
One of my hearts desires has
been to go and minister overseas. Due to
some of our kids being on the autism spectrum that desire seemed an
impossibility. “BUT GOD!” Joshua is my 20 years old Jesus loving blessing
who is on the autism spectrum. We have the opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic with a team and serve along side
fellow missionaries Joie (Puckett) and Fernando Cuevas. When we first heard
about the mission’s trip Joshua came to us and said he felt that God had laid
it on his heart to go and help Joie and Fernando. God had laid it on my heart to
go as well. “BUT GOD!” That desire of long-ago God is bringing to
fruition. The icing on the cake is I will be ministering with my son, whom I
thought would never be able to go overseas. “BUT GOD!” We will be going
with a group that understands Joshua and his challenges and are excited for him
to go and are willing to help look out for him, including Fernando and Joie. “BUT GOD!”
Our
trip is planned for June 25 – July 2nd of 2021. We will be serving
at Holt’s House of Hope in Boca Chica. Our team will have the opportunity to help
with Zo!e Ministries (holtshouseofhope.com) and work alongside Joie &
Fernando Cuevas. We will be teaching, assisting the local residents by doing
community service work, and serving in the local orphanage. We will work with the
girls and boys of Holt’s House and do community outreach in the area. Our
mission is simple, we intend to make Jesus known and to love on the people
there. Joshua has a big desire to lead someone to Jesus and also to find God’s
purposes for his life. Joshua knows that he is called but doesn’t know quite
yet what that looks like. He is searching and the fact that he is praying to lead
someone to Christ on this mission’s trip does this momma proud. Will you please
partner with us in prayer or by giving a one-time donation to help with the
desires of his heart? Our team has done multiple fundraisers and Joshua and I
are $1500 (covers both of us) short of our goal. We have the desire to see
lives changed for His glory and this includes lives of fellow team members as
well. Please be in prayer for our team, our safety, individual callings, unity,
humbleness, and provision. Pray for those who we will encounter along the way
and for the people of the Dominican. Ultimately pray that the work we do will
bring Jesus’ glory, it’s His work not ours. Pray that the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit are glorified and the kingdom advanced.
